Founding Note

O.N.E. is an organization dedicated to spreading cultural education, awareness, and tolerance within the Babson community. The organization strives to recruit members who will exemplify this quality and carry its message to the community as a whole. With that said, O.N.E. does not recruit its members or provide outreach based on race, creed, color, etc. We do, however, create an open environment for students from all walks of life to participate in events that build awareness and create a better society. The hub of our operations is the Keith B tower, which serves as a residence for the executive board of O.N.E. and a place where members and students can engage in open discussion. O.N.E. was founded at Babson College in Babson Park, MA on March 6, 2008. Although this was the official date on which the Office of Campus Life granted housing to the group, the roots run much deeper. The beginnings of the family that was built around the founding fathers cannot be placed into one day and time. Rather, it began with a group of individuals who came together to share their cultures and beliefs with one another. Along the way, acquaintances gave way to friendships, friendships to best friends, and best friends to brothers. We then decided to translate that brotherhood and camaraderie into an organization that fosters positive sentiment toward the multiculturalism of our campus.

Goals

Throughout the creation process, O.N.E. has decided that it is best to accomplish certain ends by phasing in certain sections. Outlined below are the goals which we hope the future members of O.N.E. will dedicate themselves to accomplishing.

I. Develop Respect and Awareness of diverse cultures on the Babson campus.

II. Maintain membership and dedication to the cause of the organization.

III. Work to strengthen the cohesiveness of multicultural students on this campus by providing new and exciting opportunities and acting as a resource and outlet for these students.

IV. Work to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into the O.N.E. community and the Babson Campus as a whole.
